About the Flying
Dentists Association
The Flying Dentists Association brings together dental professionals who share a passion for aviation, continuing education, service, and adventure. Since 1960, we’ve created opportunities for members and their families to connect through meaningful travel, professional growth, and a one-of-a-kind shared lifestyle.

Our Mission
Built on Skill, Fueled by Flight
Our mission is to unite dentists who love flying by offering continuing education, aviation-focused experiences, mission opportunities, and family-friendly events. We believe the disciplines of dentistry and aviation share important qualities like precision, discipline, sound judgment, and lifelong learning. Through these shared values, our members grow professionally, personally, and in lasting friendship.
This keeps the original meaning but makes it more polished and concise. The current page emphasizes continuing education, aviation, family fun, and shared skills between dentistry and flying.
Who We Are
A Unique Community Since 1960
Founded in 1960, the Flying Dentists Association was created for dentists who wanted more than a traditional professional organization. It was built for people who wanted to strengthen their careers, sharpen their flying skills, and build relationships with others who share the same interests.
Today, the association continues to bring together like-minded members from across the country through district meetings, national events, educational travel, and shared experiences that are both professionally valuable and personally rewarding.

How We Combine Dentistry and Flying
Every trip qualifies as continuing education, giving members the opportunity to legally expense aircraft use while attending. Meeting locations are intentionally selected by pilot dentists in areas not served by major airlines, helping support this structure.

The association is organized into Western, Central, and Eastern districts, each hosting annual meetings to keep events easily accessible by air.

At these gatherings, members can attend seminars on integrating aviation into their dental practice, connect with dentists from across the country, share clinical insights, and participate in pilot safety programs, including earning “Wings” ground school and Flying Dentists member badges.
